Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 09, 2026
Welcome to Own Day. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Own Day (“Own Day,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website, Own-Day.com, and the Own Day mobile application available (collectively, the “Services”).
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand how we handle your information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating and using your account. Our service providers may also process limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, and deliver the Services.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Provide and improve the Services
Save and sync your data across devices
Personalize your experience
Track progress, streaks, rewards, and habits
Respond to support requests
Improve app performance and reliability
Communicate important updates about the Services
Protect against fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
We do not sell your personal information.
3. AI Features
Own Day may use AI-powered features to generate suggestions, summaries, insights, reflections, reminders, or productivity guidance.
When you use an AI-powered feature, information needed to provide that feature may be sent to an AI service provider for processing. AI providers process submitted information solely to provide the requested feature and do not receive access to your entire account.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate and is provided for informational and motivational purposes only. It is not medical, financial, legal, or psychological advice.
4. Data Storage and Security
We use commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your data may be stored on secure third-party cloud infrastructure providers that help us operate the Services.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
5. Sharing of Information
We may share information only in limited situations:
With service providers that support functions such as cloud hosting, database storage, authentication, email delivery, analytics, operational monitoring, crash diagnostics, error reporting, and AI-powered features
If required by law or legal process
To protect the rights, safety, or security of Own Day, our users, or others
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
If you add people to your Circle, those Circle members may see your limited daily progress status, such as whether you have created Today’s Plan, are making progress, or have completed your plan. Circle members may also see and send emoji reactions connected to that progress.
Circle members do not see the names or details of your Foundational Habits, Priority Actions, Journal entries, reflections, or other personal content.
We do not sell or rent personal data to advertisers or third parties.
6. Your Choices and Account deletion
You may request deletion of your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the Own Day app.
If you no longer have access to the app, you may request account deletion by sending an email to contact@own-day.com using the email address associated with your account.
After a deletion request is submitted, your account enters a 14-day grace period, during which you may cancel the request from within the app. Once deletion processing begins, the request can no longer be cancelled.
When your account is deleted, we permanently delete your account credentials, profile information, goals, habits, intentions, reflections, priorities, rewards, daily activity, focus life areas, Circle relationships, notifications, and other personal content associated with your account, except where retention is required by law.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect the Services, and enforce our agreements.
If you request account deletion, your account enters a 14-day grace period during which you may cancel the request. After that period, your account and associated personal data are deleted.
After deletion, we may retain limited anonymized or aggregated operational statistics that cannot reasonably identify you, such as aggregate usage metrics, application version statistics, and deletion counts. These statistics do not include your name, email address, account identifier, reflections, intentions, Circle data, or other user-created content.
Some settings stored locally on your device may remain until you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app.
8. Children’s Privacy
Own Day is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and users must be at least 13 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete the account and associated personal information.
9. International Users
If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
10. Third-Party Services
The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
Please review their privacy policies separately.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If significant changes are made, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice within the app or website.
Continued use of the Services after updates means you accept the revised policy.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please reach out using the contact us form on the Own Day website.
